Job Description

As an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer you will be a part of a team developing world-class processes and tools integrating machine learning and statistical computing into everyday business critical operations ranging from inventory optimization to omnichannel marketing optimization. You will play a critical role in architecting & developing cloud solutions that employ the latest machine learning and AI technologies. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Designing, planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining artificial intelligence, deep learning, machine learning, and statistical processes against business requirements
  • Innovating at the intersection of data architectures, software development and data science, statistics, AI, and complex systems optimization
  • Working with cross-functional business and technical teams to apply your unique skillset to drive new to the world data science capabilities and business results.
  • Engaging with the Product Owner and program stakeholders to develop acceptance criteria for features and user stories to meet business requirements.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in computer science, machine learning, mathematics or similar field from an accredited institution
  • 2 years of experience with programming in Python and SQL for data engineering to support data science backed solutions in a private, public, government or military environment
  • 2 years of industry experience in applied ML
  • 3 years of experience in software development at an enterprise scale

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Industry experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) developing enterprise data stores (data meshes, lakehouses, etc.)
  • Demonstratable experience building and deploying highly scalable systems, algorithms, and tools on platforms to support machine learning and deep learning solutions.
  • 1+ year experience with big data systems like Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Databricks, or other large scale data processing engines.
  • Excellent understanding of data science techniques and algorithms, such as reinforcement learning, deep learning, machine learning, NLP, and predictive analytics.
  • Experience working with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience deploying blackbox and automated testing strategies
  • Experience employing statistical computing/data science toolsets including R and Python
  • Experience in the testing of enterprise-grade ML platforms

Work location:

Travel: May include up to 10%

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
