Job Description

The Intern, Data Science position is responsible for applying machine learning, data visualization, and other data science techniques to explore and create data-driven solutions to the problems and opportunities at Inmar Intelligence. This position will expose the Intern to modern data science development, software engineering, and agile processes. The range of technologies the Intern will use includes Python and appropriate Python packages, Linux, Hadoop (HIVE and HDFS), MSSQL, cloud technologies (GCP and Azure), and others.

This internship will be performed remotely from the student's home office. Students who apply should commit to the entire program length, from June 7th to August 6th.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITES

• Use data science techniques and tools to explore and create solutions

  Identify, extract, clean, and transform data

• Work with business units and others to understand the problem space and challenges
• Publicize results and findings via reports, presentations, and technical specifications

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Student must have completed their junior year and be on target to graduate in December 2021 or May 20211 with an Analytics, Statistics, or Computer Science focus.
• Student must have hands-on experience with python-based machine learning, having completed a project-oriented machine learning class.
• Experience with Hadoop and cloud platforms a strong plus.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with confidence and a detail orientation.
• Strong skills in preparing and presenting reports and research results.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is:

• Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands or arms.

• Regularly required to talk or hear and read instructions on a computer monitor and/or printed on paper.
• Occasionally required to stand, kneel or stoop, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Occasionally required to view items at an extremely close range and must be able to adjust and readjust focus.
