Job Description

The Promotional Writing Data Science and Engineering team is at the forefront of Netflix’s efforts to promote titles effectively and enhance the content discovery experience. Our team partners closely with Netflix's world-class creative writing teams to amplify and scale promotional writing for our members. We are seeking a seasoned Data Scientist with strong causal inference and experimentation skills. In this unique opportunity, you will directly influence strategic decisions through technical and business thought partnerships that will ultimately shape how titles are promoted on Netflix and discovered by our members.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of innovative measurement frameworks and the execution of advanced experimentation and causal inference to inform strategy and drive product innovation
• Inform future product directions through proactive and novel data explorations, guided by strong business acumen
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to identify key investment areas, lead projects from start to finish, and liaise with technical and business stakeholders
• Stay abreast of cutting-edge advancements in the field to effectively implement innovative solutions and improve the promotional writing experience for our members
• Engage with the Data Science community, internal and external, to learn, to teach, and to contribute to building a great Netflix brand

About you:

• Strong statistical knowledge and intuition in analytics, experimentation, and causal inference
• Proficient in Python programming and highly skilled in managing large datasets, performing complex data analysis using SQL, and utilizing visualization tools
• Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or related quantitative field
• Proven track record of bringing clarity to and leading ambitious roadmaps to drive product innovation
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, and passionate about positively contributing to the team and company culture
• Comfortable with ambiguity; able to take ownership, and thrive with minimal oversight and process

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $170,000 - $720,000.
