As an Engineering Manager, you’ll thrive in leading our Analytic Platform team if you love chasing impact, working through ambiguity, and developing a culture of innovation. In this role, you’ll lead a team of 5-10 engineers, leveraging your robust managerial toolbox to drive direct business and customer impact independently. You’ll work closely with your direct reports, cross-functional partners, and other teams to build the future of Dropbox. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for driving results in a collaborative, virtual-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Help define the future direction for data orchestration at Dropbox and lead a team toward that vision
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate feedback and feature requests into technical requirements
  • Drive results by identifying impactful opportunities and ensuring long-term growth and customer impact.
  • Inspire your team with a clear direction, fostering an environment where innovation flourishes and bold ideas are encouraged.
  • Foster talent development by supporting personal growth, career advancement, and diverse hiring practices.

  • Ensure software and architecture excellence through quality feedback, risk mitigation, and alignment with technical strategy and business goals.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of industry standard big data tools and platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow, etc.)
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics) or equivalent technical experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of people management experience with an engineering team
  • Minimum of 5 year as a software engineer or equivalent technical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on and/or managing a data platform

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Current Salary/OTE Ranges (Subject to change):

C$178,500 - C$210,000 - C$241,500
