Job Description

A Data and Business Intelligence (BI) Architect is a professional responsible for designing and implementing the overall AVEVA's data architecture and BI solutions within an organization. This role involves understanding the business needs, data sources, and technology infrastructure to create a robust and efficient data ecosystem. The primary objective is to ensure that data is organized, accessible, and insightful for informed decision-making.

Data Architecture Design:

  • Develop and implement data architecture strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Design data models, databases, and data warehouses to support business requirements.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Business Intelligence (BI) Strategy:

  • Define and execute the BI strategy, considering the needs of various business units.
  • Select and implement BI tools and technologies that enhance data visualization and reporting capabilities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting and analytics needs.

Data Integration and ETL Processes:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes for efficient data integration.
  • Integrate data from disparate sources to create a unified and comprehensive view.

Data Governance and Quality:

  • Establish data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Define and enforce data management policies and procedures.

Collaboration with IT and Business Teams:

  • Work closely with IT teams to implement and optimize data solutions.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their operational processes and requirements.

Performance Optimization:

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of databases and BI systems.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to data retrieval, processing, and reporting.

Emerging Technologies and Trends:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data and BI.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools or methodologies that can enhance the organization's data capabilities.

Documentation and Training:

  • Document data architectures, processes, and solutions for knowledge sharing.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and data-related processes.

Qualifications/Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience 10 years as a data architect, BI architect, or similar role.
  • Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, ETL, and data integration techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure,AWS GCP) and their data services.
  • Strong understanding of BI concepts, tools (e.g,Power BI, Gainsight), and visualization best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in data architecture, cloud computing, or related areas.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and advanced analytics concepts.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Salary Range:

$127,200.00 - $212,000.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.
