About The Role

FTI Information Governance & Security Practice (IG&SP) practice is designed to help organizations better manage their information. Based on the Information Governance Reference Model, FTI Technology’s IG&SP is a fast-growing practice that has launched several consulting offerings designed to both minimize risk as well as reduce costs associated with the creation, use, production and disposal of information. When combined with FTI Technology’s award-winning software and range of experts around the globe in the area of eDiscovery, this practice provides great strategic value to FTI’s clients.

This Senior Director role is a newly created position within our fast growing Paris office and is a part of FTI’s global Technology team. You will have the opportunity to lead on high-profile local and international engagements, working closely with clients and other FTI international offices. Work will include leading across all components of an Information Governance engagement from initial client contact, problem identification, deal closure and delivery.

What You’ll Do

You will be working on a range of challenging client engagements leading and managing consultants to deliver projects on time and to budget. You will also support the development of the practice and business development activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify business opportunities on the French market in key areas such as privacy/data protection (GDPR), data retention, records management, legal hold, defensible data disposal, data segregation, data migration, compliance issues around AI or AI implementation
  • Lead Client engagement projects and work-streams and provide delivery excellence in IG&SP engagements
  • Lead project delivery and oversee more junior team members
  • Maintain your ‘edge’ in technical developments and how they relate to clients’ issues
  • Lead IG assessments covering a wide span of disciplines across legal, privacy, security, records management, data management and IT processes
  • Align enterprise IG related policies, procedures and standards
  • Adapt existing industry standards to support engagements & create novel frameworks to meet evolving client needs
  • Responsible for day-to-day client engagement and follow up, interaction with other consultants, 3rd party suppliers, and internal FTI stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching for junior members of the practice and development of thought leadership in the IG space

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications

  • Significant experience (+10 years) in data governance, privacy or IT risk related role
  • GDPR expertise and experience (in-house or as an external consultant)
  • Proven ability to close and lead large matters
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Key Skills

  • Excellent communication and client presentation and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to sell, good commercial acumen
  • Confident and able to build trusting relationships with clients and peers
  • Strong technical expertise in manipulation and management of data with ability to quickly learn and operate new tools as required by client.
  • Positions or experience with corporate data environments, legacy data environment, databases and/or security experience preferred
  • Provide superior client service in demanding, deadline-driven situations
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Fluent in French and English
