Position Summary:

As a Data Science intern within the Data Lab at Bio-Techne, you will develop, optimize, and evaluate machine learning and deep learning models and algorithms that support the business. You will work closely with a team of data analysts/scientists, data engineers, and key stakeholders to learn about the Bio-Techne business and to build data-driven solutions for business needs, including development and deployment of algorithms and models that serve both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing insights from product data, marketing data, and sales data
• Statistical modeling and analysis
• Model building, tuning, and evaluation
• Predictive analysis
• Data wrangling, munging, and integration
• Data visualization

Education and Experience:

• Student pursuing or recently graduated with a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Machine learning, or equivalent degree
• Experience with Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools
• Experience developing and optimizing machine learning models
• Excellent analytical, programming, and computer skills, with an emphasis in big data principles
• Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• A desire to learn about the business and to add value by extracting information and insights from data
• Experience with or interest in graph data structures
• Experience with or interest in biological datasets
