Job Description

We are looking for a passionate cloud security engineer who is ready to play a major role in taking security of NBCUniversal public cloud platforms to the next level by driving innovative solutions in a challenging multi-cloud environment.

The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of security concepts, can demonstrate proven cloud infrastructure knowledge, and has experience of building or developing security solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Help define cloud security strategy by analyzing existing tools, workflows, and gaps
• Continuously research and propose innovative solutions and methodologies
• Explore untapped capabilities of existing tools and evaluate new technologies in the cloud and application security realm
• Work as a cloud security SME with other Cybersecurity teams that are engaged in securing cloud-based platforms and solutions
• Continuously research for emerging malicious patterns and newly discovered security flaws in public cloud infrastructures and propose applicable security remediations and controls
• Assist with design, development, and maintenance of cloud security platforms
• Establish successful business and technical relationships with NBCU cloud teams to drive the security measures needed for a successful public cloud deployment

Qualifications/Requirements

• Subject matter expertise in either of AWS or Azure, and reasonable knowledge of the other backed by hands-on experience
• Well understanding of cloud native technologies, microservices and serverless applications
• Proven knowledge of fundamental cloud and application security concepts and frameworks such as OWASP
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation in cloud-based environments
• Comfortable with Infrastructure as Code deployments and familiar with relevant tools such as terraform
• Strong understanding of containers and container orchestration systems
• Practical coding knowledge in Python or Go is a huge plus
• Experience with industry standard security monitoring and compliance platforms highly desired
• Intellectual capability and curiosity to deconstruct and solve problems
