As a valued member of Stryker’s AI innovation unit, you will work alongside trailblazers, industry visionaries, innovators, and inventors who are committed to bringing computer vision, AI/ML and digital innovation to the operating room and other healthcare settings.

You’ll contribute to fast-paced cycles of innovation and develop core technologies that power a wide array of Stryker’s solutions, including: surgical robotics and navigation, image-guided surgery, treatment selection, outcome assessment, and clinical decision intelligence.

You will apply your core skills across a range of deployment platforms spanning from mobile applications, cloud services, and SDKs to embedded systems, edge devices, and mixed reality (XR) platforms.

What You Will Do:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead research, design, development, modification, and evaluation of complex cloud-based and AI enabled systems in the medical device space to achieve business objectives.
  • Plan, manage, and communicate the product vision, roadmap, releases and features to stakeholders, business leaders, and cross-functional development teams.
  • Identify and prioritize new features and use cases by working directly with users, stakeholders, and related subject matter experts.
  • Translate user needs to system requirements.
  • Work with engineering, marketing, UX, and other teams to incorporate user feedback into product features.
  • Manage software improvements post-launch, focusing on cost optimization and integration of feedback from operations, sales, nonconformances, and performance issues.
  • Apply and mentor others on advanced engineering, agile methodologies and product management theories, principles, and concepts.
  • Hold self and others accountable to deliver high quality results with passion, energy, and drive to meet business priorities.
  • Develop invention disclosures, patents, or trade secrets.

Business Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to competitive and market strategy by demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the market, customer dynamics and competitive offerings.
  • Apply strong understanding of clinical procedures to enhance product development.
  • Contribute and execute customer facing activities like demos and voice of customer labs in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen.

Medical Device Compliance:

  • Lead creation and refinement of engineering documentation (such as design requirements), per industry standards and regulations.
  • Identify and lead improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology.

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related discipline
  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical/Professional Skills:

  • Experience in developing cloud-based, digital, AI, XR or complex software systems.
  • Ability to communicate complex plans and technical information to team members across multiple locations and disciplines.
  • Experience in developing medical devices or digital health solutions.
  • Experience in both hardware and software development.

Engineering Tools:

  • Requirements Management Software, for example Jama.
  • Backlog Management Software, for example Jira.
  • Collaboration Software, for example Confluence, Figma, Mural.

Certifications:

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or equivalent.
  • $112k – $239k salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
