Your role:

  • The Senior Research Scientist will utilize a holistic, system-wide engineering approach in the development of new Medical Imaging product/feature’s introduction and realization of optimal image quality through designing algorithms, creating specifications, and driving improvements for data corrections, including calibrations and image reconstruction with special focus on Image Quality. Investigate image quality issues during new product/features introduction or issues reported from installed base. Update stakeholders on image quality findings. Document and provide safe and effective solutions based on these findings.
  • Contribute to the development, enhancement, maintenance, and improvement of R&D tools for data simulation and image formation for new product/features. Provide processing benchmarks, dataflow requirements, and documentation of Software Requirement Specifications. Develop and maintain a thorough in-depth understanding of current CT physics processing algorithms. Understand the impact of proposed/required changes to the entire image chain, especially where changes in one processing section may require changes in another. Keep up to date on software technologies and theoretical concepts and participate in process improvement activities. Expand knowledge of clinical applications on medical imaging products and the relation to available processing options.
  • Develop and own CT Imaging Platform innovation technology roadmap in physics. Strongly contribute to the translation and shaping of innovation strategies together with the business. Represent Philips at technical and regulatory agencies/events, publish in peer-reviewed journals/file intellectual property and coach/develop less experienced global team members.
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager Physics & Algorithms, you will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Clinical Sciences, Systems Engineering, Marketing and other Internal/External stakeholders.
  • This Hybrid, Orange, OH based role may require travel up to 10%.

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired a Minimum of 7 years combined professional and Graduate level Research experience in Physics/Medical Imaging (CT and/or PET preferred).
  • Your skills include proficiency with the image/signal processing, GUI and C-MEX functionality of the MATLAB® environment as well as experience programming with MATLAB®, Python and C++ (preferred).
  • You have In-depth knowledge of machine learning frameworks, such as PyTorch and TensorFlow (preferred).
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and explain complicated algorithms and problems to non-specialists in a clear and understandable manner.
  • You have a Minimum of a Ph.D. in Physics, Mathematics, Biomedical, Electrical or Nuclear engineering or related fields and background in theory of medical image formation (preferred).
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

Philips Transparency Details:

The pay range for this position is $107,000 to $199,000, annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
