Job Description

A typical day as a Cogniter will contain the following tasks & responsibilities

• Develop Cognite Data Fusion - a robust, state-of-the-art SaaS for industrial data.
• Solve concrete industrial data problems by designing and implementing APIs and services that are robust, secure and scalable.
• Work with complex distributed systems to build scalable and performant solutions.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Be actively involved in setting product and technical direction.
• Be actively involved in product and technical decisions.

We believe most of these should match you and your experience

• You have 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• You have a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a natural science field, such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• You have the ability to learn other coding languages and use the language best fit for purpose. In particular,
• Experience with Scala, Kotlin, and Java is a plus.
• Hand-on experience or familiarity with developing and maintaining ETL frameworks, in particular with Apache Spark, is a big plus.
• You have experience with cloud development, which may include Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, or other related technologies.
• Knowledge of modern database solutions, such as PostgreSQL and Spanner.
