Job Description

The Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) platform is the perfect opportunity for you to assist in the design & development of a world-class unified platform, enabling Small and Medium Enterprises globally.

The SME team is looking for a Principal Data Scientist to spearhead the development and implementation of advanced machine learning models and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and software engineers, to integrate machine learning solutions into our business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical leader within the team, providing guidance and best practices in machine learning to team members.
• Develop and refine advanced analytical solutions, utilizing Mastercard's extensive global data assets and software platforms.
• Architect and lead the design and implementation of sophisticated data models and algorithms, steering complex data science initiatives from conception through to execution.
• Lead the creation of architectural decision records to document important decisions made regarding data processing and modeling.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data science into broader business strategies.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, continually applying new techniques to enhance analytical capabilities.
• Advocate for best practices in data science, ensuring the highest standards of data integrity and analysis.
• Communicate complex data findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

All about you

• Strong experience in Python or any other data science programming languages.
• Extensive expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics.
• Proficiency in big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or similar frameworks.
• Excellent skills in data visualization and interpretation.
• Demonstrated history of successfully delivering high-quality, data-driven solutions, including deploying production-level machine learning models and executing complex business intelligence projects.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex data concepts in simple terms.
• Experience in working with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proven track record of delivering data products in environments with strict adherence to security and model governance standards.
