The Role

The Hitachi Vantara software product management team is looking for a senior level Product Manager to make Hitachi Vantara infrastructure the easiest to consume and fit seamlessly within the world of IoT. Furthermore, the successful candidate will help Hitachi Vantara protect our customer's data from disasters and threats and grow our customers' businesses through copy data management. This is a challenging position that requires a mix of strong technical software skills and business aptitude. As a Product Manager you will be the voice of the customer and drive software development to deliver solutions to understand status, performance, configuration and risk assessment across Hitachi Vantara hardware platforms and manage copy data for data protection, reuse and governance. Additionally, you will facilitate go-to-market activities including Support/Services, Marketing, and Sales to ensure the success and growth of our products.

A position at this level requires a candidate who needs little to no supervision: a proven self-starter capable of understanding what needs to be done and making it happen. You must be able to communicate throughout all areas of the company including engineering, marketing, sales, support and services to drive awareness and adoption as well as profitability for responsible products.

Responsibilities

• Continuously analyze datacenter, data protection/copy data management and storage market to develop, maintain and socialize customer digital experience platform requirements, strategies and business plans
• Drive data protection and copy data management requirements across associated hardware and software components to simplify and enable advanced management
• Work across product and solution teams to drive and demonstrate vision and capabilities as well as support integration activities
• Develop and communicate vision and strategy to internal and external executives
• Specify and document product roadmaps and requirements by gathering knowledge through customer interaction, sales engagements, competitive analysis and analyst research
• Work closely with other Product Managers, Owners, Solutions, Marketing, Sales and Engineering teams to define and develop detailed product/business requirements
• Develop relationships with 3rd parties and recommend possible platform component solutions
• Continuously analyze and document product profitability and state of the business and deliver quarterly status summary reports to executives
• Frequent interaction with customers to deliver product vision and roadmaps as well as provide demonstrations and answer technical questions
• Manage entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical GTM activities

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software product management experience
• Strong knowledge of datacenter / storage technologies and management interfaces
• Deep knowledge of data protection and copy data management across the data center with focus on storage platforms
• Understanding of datacenter / storage market, directions and needs
• This position requires domestic and international travel (30%)
• A. or B.S. degree from an accredited university with a major in Computer Science or related field
• Masters degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science or MIS a strong plus
