Job Description

NVIDIA's invention of the GPU in 1999 fueled the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, we are increasingly known as “the AI computing company”. We are growing our company and the team with the smartest people in the world.

We are looking for extraordinary Software Engineers to develop and productize NVIDIA's DRIVE software. As a member of NVIDIA's Solution Engineering team, you will adapt DRIVE AV solutions to various car platforms equipped with different sensors. This includes but is not limited to retraining and optimizing deep learning models for deployment, reconfiguration, customization and rebuilding of DRIVE AV processing pipelines. This role also involves building close technical relationships with our partners during product development and coordinate with the architecture and software teams to develop the best solutions for partners working on our platform.

NVIDIA’s deep learning platform has already made a major impact to the field and is broadly used across leading academic institutions, start-ups, and industry, including the world’s largest Internet companies. We need passionate, hard-working and creative people to help us take on more of these challenging opportunities in Autonomous Driving.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Integrate different hardware and software components optimally for customer products.
  • Shape the architecture of the solution working closely with software architecture and development teams.
  • Customize, reconfigure and rebuild DRIVE AV processing pipelines
  • Conduct benchmarking and evaluation activities
  • Perform in-vehicle tests, capture data and conduct in-depth analysis to complete autonomous drive missions.
  • Provide technical support, bring up customer hardware, debug and resolve system issues.
  • Responsible for the technical relationship and assisting the automotive customer in building creative solutions based on Nvidia technology.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams in our US, APAC, India and Europe locations.

What we need to see:

  • General understanding of the main SW technologies used in ADAS and self-driving cars (computer vision, deep learning, path planning, etc.)
  • Experience in the development of embedded systems, including formulating system level requirements, designs and architectures.
  • Customer facing skill-set and background working with developers, researchers, start-ups and established technical/industry partners.
  • Strong knowledge of scripting and Python
  • Excellent C and C++ programming skills
  • Experienced Linux user
  • Undergraduate/Masters/PhD degree or equivalent experience in computer science, electrical engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ yrs relevant experience

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with good attention to details.
  • Experience working with self-driving cars or other real-time robotics/mechatronics systems.
  • Experience with automotive design processes and norms
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, good time management and task prioritization..
  • Prior experience with CUDA programming language
  • Open source project ownership or contribution, GitHub repositories, guiding and/or mentoring experience.
  • Understanding of the DRIVE or Nvidia GPU hardware

NVIDIA is leading the way in ground breaking developments in Artificial Intelligence, High-Performance Computing and Visualization. The GPU, our invention, serves as the visual cortex of modern computers and is at the heart of our products and services. Our work opens up new universes to explore, enables outstanding creativity and discovery, and powers what were once science fiction inventions from artificial intelligence to autonomous cars. NVIDIA is looking for phenomenal people to help us accelerate the next wave of artificial intelligence.
