Travelers Data Engineering team constructs pipelines that contextualize and provide easy access to data by the entire enterprise. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in growing and transforming our analytics landscape. In addition to your strong analytical mind, you will bring your inquisitive attitude and ability to translate the stories found in data. You will leverage your ability to design, build and deploy data solutions that capture, explore, transform, and utilize data to support Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and business intelligence/insights.
What is the Opportunity?
This role is part of the Travelers Investigative Services (TIS) Data & Analytics Team. Travelers Investigative Services provides industry-first resources designed to detect and deter fraudulent claims. Using some of the most comprehensive technology available, our highly trained and experienced professionals have the abilities and expertise to identify potential risks and combat fraudulent claims practices.
The Data & Analytics Team in TIS is evolving to bring new data, technology, insights, and methodologies into the organization. The industry continues to be challenged with the variety of ways fraudsters can take advantage of insurance companies and their processes, which includes leveraging new technology.
Our vision is to advance our ability to identify fraudulent patterns by leveraging data and technology. As a Data Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity within TIS to combine your data expertise, analytics, and a creative and inquisitive mindset to grow and transform our analytics landscape. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to partner with our Investigators and Analysts to build solutions that will provide insights that lead to investigations.
Within TIS, this position will be responsible for designing and developing products to advance our commitment to identifying fraud and progressing our analytics capabilities. The position will grow and establish optimal and effective techniques within the TIS Data & Analytics Team. This will include building and deploying data solutions which includes quantifying our fraud exposure and the impact to our loss payouts, developing statistical approaches to support our workflows as well as leveraging industry and other 3rd party data to help with staffing analysis and to develop other operational metrics and benchmarks.
