Job Description

We are currently looking for a Lead Cloud Engineer who has Azure subject matter expertise and can make a huge impact on an enterprise-scale as part of the Cloud Platform, Platform Engineering and Operations team. This role would have responsibility for architecture, design, setup, configuration, implementation, management, troubleshooting, performance tuning, governance, technical administration, and maintenance of solutions and environments for IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, and Kafka. These messaging systems could be operating either on-premises data centers or on the cloud.

The Cloud Platform, Platform Engineering and Operations team focuses on building solutions for enabling teams to deliver applications and services in Cloud and Datacenter technologies. We are looking for someone with broad Azure experience that can help design and engineer solutions in Azure to enable teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering tasks related to designing, installing, configuring, and managing Azure solutions in a large-scale environment
• Standardize and automate the setup of environments using Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Provide expertise in Azure to be able to diagnose, tune and resolve performance and high availability issues.
• Enable, Implement and maintain monitoring solutions for DevOps teams
• Provide customer-focused administrative support of Azure to support a wide number of teams with a focus on DevOps
• Come up with innovative solutions to meet the needs of business/application teams and improve the overall end-user experience within Best Buy.
• Establish best practices for implementing Azure solutions
• Leverage Agile Development Methodologies.
• Mentor and guide other members within the team.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, initiative, eagerness to learn new technologies and research new technologies, tools, analytics techniques to invest in your skills and grow, improve, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations using critical thinking skills and be decisive while working cooperatively with others.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience
• 5 or more years of experience working with major Cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
• 2 or more years of technical experience building solutions in Azure
• 3 or more years of experience in installing, configuring, performance tuning, security patching, monitoring setup, troubleshooting, recoverability of modern technologies and systems such as Kafka, Cassandra, Kubernetes, Containers, Redis, and application runtimes.
• 3 or more years of experience using automation and configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science or related field
• Experience with event streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka, Confluent Kafka, or Google Cloud Pub/Sub
• Experience in at least one scripting language such as Ruby, JavaScript, Linux\\Unix shell scripting, and Python
• Experience with monitoring tools like Kibana, Grafana, and Splunk
• A clear understanding of cloud services provided by major vendors and experience integrating private and public clouds
• Experience utilizing industry-standard technologies and methods to ensure integrity and recoverability of platforms
• Familiarity with Agile systems management processes and standards
• Working understanding of Agile and DevOps culture
• Experience leveraging development pipelines, DevOps philosophies and working with infrastructure-as-code
• Experience working in a cross-functional team in an enterprise IT environment
• Experience collaborating and communicating across IT teams, departments, and with internal and external customers
• Excellent communication and people skills
