Job Description

The Supply Chain and Manufacturing Data & Systems Expert is a technical role, responsible for driving a data and value driven approach to problem solving in Mars. A successful candidate will leverage their understanding of the business, systems, and operations to share their breadth and depth of knowledge with the decision and data science team to provide accelerate their work providing actionable insights for solving business problems or finding opportunities for profitable growth.

You will innovate and establish ways of working to best collaborate with the Digital Foundry Product Management, Delivery Management, Global Analytics, Data & AI teams day to day, whilst partnering to solve problems in close collaboration with users from our segments & markets around the world. This also provides the opportunity to be influential in the new & emerging capabilities that Mars needs to build to be successful with plenty of room for “firsts”.

Contribute amongst a team of Trailblazers to identify, explore, validate, and translate new data elements or new technologies. Provide domain, system, or operational expertise to enable Data Engineering, Delivery Management, and Data Scientists to fulfil Digital Product feature roadmaps and allow users to unlock complex problems and solve them with advanced analytics techniques.

Within this team, you will:

  • Affect Global Change Through Business Acumen: Leverage a strong domain and/or operational knowledge of ERP and planning function or systems to lead data exploration and explanation efforts
  • Translate Business Need to Science Insight: Practice user-centric thinking to technical delivery. Help feature developers understand the business and system context needed to ensure solutions produce insights that users can interpret and action.
  • Contribute to a Network of Experts: Collaborate with Regional SMEs and Functional Experts to deepen teams’ understanding of key operational metrics, unchartered data sources and technologies, and supporting data elements and translate findings into actionable business insights
  • Practice a Strong Discovery Mindset: Trailblaze new approaches and data sources that will expand the scope, enable new functionality, or refine the accuracy of the Digital Products
  • Explore and Explain Complex Data: Support the data life cycle by collecting, transforming, and analysing data, then communicating results in order to inform and guide decision-making
  • Help Others Move with Velocity: Use organisational abilities to contribute as an expert across multiple Digital Products, to meet and accelerate implementation of roadmap features

Knowledge / Experience

  • Proven industry experience; experience of Analytics in the Consumer Products Good Industry Supply chain/consulting experience in CPG industry
  • Experience in technology/source systems (SAP ERP, Enterprise Planning Systems (EPS), Azure, SQL, Hive, PowerBI, React).
  • Agile delivery experience advantageous

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, STEM subject, or related field. Master’s level study advantageous.
  • Agile delivery qualifications (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SixSigma, SaFe) very advantageous
