DESCRIPTION

The Verily Health Platforms (VHP) organization focuses on care delivery innovation. Our portfolio of solutions include programs like Onduo, our personalized virtual care platform, which includes connected tools, lifestyle coaching and clinical support; Healthy at Work, which combines testing, symptom tracking, data analytics, and onsite operational support to help employers and universities resume operations during Covid-19; and the Verily Value suite, which is helping large hospital systems make data-driven decisions.

As a Clinical Data Architect/Analyst, you will participate in defining and guiding the development of costs and outcomes related analytics efforts at Verily and support the development of the data platform to serve all data-related needs of VHP products. The initial focus will be developing data solutions, which support patients and healthcare providers in identifying the key drivers of clinical care variation that impacts clinical outcomes, healthcare costs and resource utilization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support in defining data management solutions for VHP products. Play a key role in defining and prototyping the data integration workflows: acquisition, cleansing, mapping, normalization and developing common models for healthcare information.
  • Prepare system/business requirements documentation, define the data catalog, implement the business logic and document metadata in support of complex data solutions.
  • Define data mapping to standard ontologies and the FHIR data store. Partner with Data Science, Biostatistics and Engineering to develop and document common data models across data sources.
  • Develop and maintains data visualization, and prepare data extracts for data visualization tools. Develop data extracts to support automated reports and dashboards, prototypes ETL workflow and mappings.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) and develop validation documents, including but not limited to: test scripts, execution logs for UAT, profiling thresholds, error reconciliation and UAT summary report.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information systems, Computer Science, Informatics, healthcare or medical related field. 
  • 6-9+ years significant experience in defining data solutions, implementing ETL workflows or performing analysis within Healthcare and or Life Sciences industries.
  • Experience with Visualization or Business Intelligence software.
  • Knowledge of technique, models, processes, methodologies, and ETL workflow within healthcare architecture disciplines.
  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare knowledge standards, controlled terminologies (e.g. SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm, etc) and standard data models (e.g. OMOP, FHIR HL7, I2B2, etc.).
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards; FHIR HL7, HL7v2, X12, NCPDP, CCLF, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Informatics, Information Systems or a medical related degree preferred.
  • Finely honed quantitative and qualitative skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills, a consensus builder and team player with a collegial working style.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment across multiple simultaneous efforts and evolving timelines and priorities.
  • Experience with SQL, ETL, Python Data Analysis Tools: Jupyter Notebook and data analysis skills.
  • Previous experience working with clinical and financial healthcare systems, (e.g. EHR’s, Registration, Revenue Cycle, Costing).
