DESCRIPTION

Verily Life Sciences is focused on shifting health care from a reactive, undifferentiated approach to a proactive, targeted approach by transforming the detection, prevention, management and even our basic understanding of disease. Our biostatisticians work collaboratively with broad study teams to analyze rich, multi-modal datasets including clinical outcomes data, EHR, app data, and many other data types. We work with a variety of teams developing a diverse portfolio of devices and digital biomarkers. Many of our studies involve non-traditional experimental designs and consulting is a critical element of this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Descriptive and exploratory analysis of cross-sectional and longitudinal data.
  • Determine innovative study designs, appropriate statistical tests and methods for both evaluating and generating statistical hypotheses.
  • Statistical programming to generate datasets, tables, and figures for collaborators.
  • Collaborate with other biostatisticians, sharing statistical expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD in statistics or biostatistics or a masters plus equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience with analysis of healthcare data.
  • Experience with EHR and/or claims data.
  • Statistical programming in python.
  •  Basic knowledge of SQL.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience programming in a source controlled environment.
  • Understanding of statistical tools for non-randomized comparisons.
  • Familiarity with developing real-world evidence.
