We’re also actively working to combat the spread of COVID-19 through new programs like Healthy at Work.

DESCRIPTION

We are building the next generation layer 2 platform-as-service to support Verily’s needs for hybrid public cloud infrastructure. We need visionary, execution-focused technical leaders to help shape the future of platform engineering and to help us expand our impact exponentially. When working on the Platform Engineering team you will be building cutting edge cloud technology that is already powering a number of the biggest, innovative projects at Verily and potentially the rest of the world by open sourcing our platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and operate our core platform components and services.
• Build the next generation of hybrid public cloud infrastructure.
• Make strategic engineering decisions to grow the product and ensure successful customers.
• Providing technical leadership for a team of highly skilled and capable engineers and setting technical direction. Coach and guide your team and fellow teams for long term career success.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, and customers to deliver on product goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience. Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages.
• Experience working with Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD systems.
• Experience in technical leadership and setting technical direction for large scale engineering projects.
• Experience architecting, designing, and developing large scale distributed systems or devops systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Extensive development experience on Google Cloud Platform, or other cloud platforms.
• Experience leading technically complex projects and providing technical mentorship to a group of Engineers.
• Experience launching or active role in maintaining open source project(s).
