DESCRIPTION

As a Computational Biologist/ Data Scientist in Proteomics, you will be joining a team making use of diverse ‘omics data to improve biomarker and target discovery in different disease settings. You will work in a collaborative, cross-functional team to further develop innovative molecular platforms for use in clinical and research settings. You will lead analyses of large, disease-focused proteomics datasets to develop new hypotheses about complex disease and develop an analytical story supporting these hypotheses. You will help drive product strategy using both the team’s analysis results and an understanding of research in the field. You may also develop new methods and models to help derive insights from our proprietary platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee study design and analysis for the platform you support.
  • Analyze complex, ‘omics and multi-omics data sets in combination with clinical and other data.
  • Design and implement methods for within and cross-data type analyses.
  • Build and evaluate predictive models of disease/risk.
  • Communicate technical results with and use them to help drive product strategy in a very collaborative and cross-functional team. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related), or equivalent practical experience, and 2-4 years industry experience.
  • Proficient in Python and/or R.
  • Expertise in statistical data analysis, modeling, machine learning and exploratory data analysis.
  • Demonstrated track record, including peer-reviewed publications, of analyzing large biological (“omics”) data sets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement novel algorithms and methods.
  • Experience working with clinical trial data in any disease setting.
  • Experience working with proteomics data and supporting assay development and validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive product strategy through analytical work and ideation.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication and teamwork.
