Get To Know The Opportunity

Voya is seeking to recruit a Vice President and leader of Voya’s Enterprise Data organization. This leader will contribute to the acceleration the company’s data transformation initiatives and to make a best-in-class and modern client experience for Voya’s clients possible—individuals, employers, financial professionals, and institutional investors. This new leader and their teams will be accountable for developing and driving the strategic direction of Voya’s data strategy, objectives, and initiatives. This new leader will develop a trusted partnership with Voya’s business partners, both intimately understanding their business roadmaps and desired capabilities, and offering enablement solutions in terms business partners understand and embrace. Critical to this role is introducing innovation through appropriate levels of risk taking as well as influencing, engaging, and driving integration across a variety of external partners. This position is charged with developing, motivating, and a leading a high performing enterprise data team that will undertake highly technical critical initiatives and take an active involvement in strategy development. The role requires true subject matter expertise in current and emerging data technologies, deep experience with strategy development and communications, organizational leadership, and the ability to partner with the businesses.

The Contributions You’ll Make

  • Drive Voya’s enterprise data function, strategy and road mapping activities.
  • Build close relationships to influence the data business strategy, objectives, and initiatives. Be receptive to appropriate levels of risk taking to drive innovation in support of achieving the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Integrate across a variety of external partners and influence to further Voya objectives.
  • Build and develop a highly effective enterprise data organization with the required skills and structure capable to execute on the technical needs of Voya’s data strategy.
  • Effectively interact with Voya customers, external partners, board committees and business partners.
  • Constantly evaluate in-house and FinTech solutions for enhancing Voya capabilities.
  • Ensure the successful execution of the business mission through deployment of sophisticated methodologies, technologies, and process optimization. Re-envision and continuously evolve the company's data capabilities at all levels including AI, big-data, cloud, master data management, business intelligence, enterprise data warehouses, and processing optimization, as well as risk mitigation and growth.
  • Employ technical, market, and industry expertise to influence Voya's data technology strategy based on technology needs/vision. Drive said strategies by providing vision, leadership, and innovation to application development teams.
  • Build strategic plans to increase customer satisfaction and provide opportunities for growth leveraging data capabilities.
  • Provide strategic oversight of projects, executing within budget and within the prescribed time, scope, and resources. Direct and ensure effective partnership of the data functions across the IT organization and business to develop and deliver against 3-5 year roadmaps significantly advancing the companies data capabilities.
  • Provide insightful data-driven strategic recommendations to Voya leadership.

Minimum Requirements and Experience

  • A technology related degree with an advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience successfully inspiring and leading multi-level technology organizations
  • Depth of knowledge in the data discipline including current and emerging technologies
  • Experience driving actionable strategy development and road mapping
  • Expertise as a trusted advisor to the business partners
  • Excellent communication, influence, and presentation skills with executive level experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovation

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$176,500 - $215,730
