What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI is looking for an experienced AI/ML Ops Engineer to work with our team in Ashburn, VA or Colorado Springs, CO. CACI supports the program across a broad range of systems and software technologies.

This AI/ML Ops Engineer will work closely with our Army customer to design and implement a new platform product that will be used by Army Data Scientists to develop and operate a variety of data science products from analysis products to artificial intelligence and machine learning applications.

This person will work with a government counterpart as the Lead Engineer for the product. They will be responsible for the development of the platform product’s vision and architecture and will work with a team of government and contractor engineers to implement all the capabilities required.

The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse team is also crucial. A willingness to learn and stay abreast of industry trends. The program emphasizes innovation, and CACI looks for individuals who can bring creative ideas to solve complex problems, both technical and procedural.

More About the Role:

Serves as a lead AI/ML Ops automation specialist implementing a platform for building and operating data science products. Responsibilities include:

• Work with customers and management of all levels.

• Act as a proxy Product Owner working directly with government counterparts to establish the product’s vision

• Maintain requirements, architecture, and design documentation

• Research and evaluate the latest software build pipeline tools and technologies

• Implement a pipeline that will automate build, test, security assessment, packaging, deployment, and operation activities for data science applications

• Provide Tier 3 support as needed.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Strong database administration background, with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience.

• Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

• Five (5+) years related pipeline automation experience with at least 3 years’ experience with GitLab.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with at least an interim DOD Secret clearance or higher.

• A current DoD 8570 certification for an IAT II level position

• Familiar with agile methodologies

• Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, CM, quality assurance, and release management.

• A working understanding of Data Science projects and the development methodologies and tooling used by Data Scientists to produce data products (particularly AI/ML products)

• Experience with Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and other Linux distros. (Automated and manual.)

• Experience with docker containers, distroless containers

• Experience with helm charts, Kubernetes, poetry, python, pytest, terraform, and go.

• Experience with CyberSecurity guidelines and scanning tools. (I.e. OpenScap, Evaluate STIGs, etc.)

• Experience resolving complex problems and providing creative solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to convey technical information.

• Highly responsible, team-oriented individual and self-starter

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Experience with Platform One services such as Big Bang and Iron Bank

• A working knowledge of the services provided by a major cloud provider like Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Familiarity with the processes needed to get the authority to operate a system in a DoD space

• Familiarity with languages and tools used for Data Science projects (e.g. R, Jupiter Labs)

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $95,500-$210,100. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
