Key Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting infrastructure in a high volume of customer-facing environment
• Proficiency with Shell scripting, Python or similar languages
• Development experience in Java
• Experience on any of NoSQL data store such as Voldemort, Cassandra, MongoDB, Couchbase or Redis
• Experience handling Big Data Environment like Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, ELK etc
• Configuration management experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef or Salt
• Exposure to logging infrastructure and tools such as Splunk, Kibana
• Background in building and handling large infrastructure supporting a huge volume of transactions in a high-demand environment
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results on time with high quality
• Aptitude to independently learn new technologies
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple business and technical teams
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Description

We are looking for a hardworking Java/Hadoop DevOps Engineer to run one of the largest distributed database infrastructure. The successful candidate will enjoy Java development, build and handle highly available and efficient distributed databases systems that serve Apple services around the globe. RESPONSIBILITIES: Build and lead Apple's critical distributed database systems Develop, debug and review Java source code Write, review and develop code and documentation that solves the hardest problems on some of the largest and most complex systems Database infrastructure setup, configuration, upgrades, monitoring and troubleshooting. Build automation scripts to manage database infrastructure Measure and optimize system performance Share on-call rotation with the existing team members to provide 12x7 support

Education & Experience

Prefers a BS in engineering, computer science or other technical disciplines plus 5 years of related experience.
