Job Description

UKG is seeking a Data Science Intern to work within our Advanced Research Group. The role includes researching cutting-edge AI solutions, generating ideas, and proposing new research efforts to gain unforeseen insights from workforce data. Successful completion of the internship will involve the thorough investigation of a research question that results in a conclusive answer to that question. A written report of the research findings and a presentation on those findings will be completed at the end of the internship and delivered to the team and other stakeholders.

• Complete guided, but self-driven, research on a problem chosen by our Data Science team.
• Survey the literature to help identify state of the art methods that can potentially be applied to our research problem
• Explore and analyze real workforce management datasets
• Use big data technologies to derive insight at large scale
• Build prototype machine learning solutions that derive business value from the data and help answer our research questions
• Be an active member of our Data Science team by participating in team meetings and collaborating with other team members

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science or a similar field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with general purpose programming languages (Python, Java, Scala), and database querying languages (SQL)
• Knowledge and experience with time series analysis and state of the art techniques for time series forecasting is a plus
