Job Description

As Sr. Applied Scientist on our team, you will own the technical areas of investment to build and next generation AI/ML developer ecosystem, LLM accelerators, setup and define ML benchmarking platforms, and work on ML framework and runtime optimizations. This role will partner with external and internal customers, hardware providers and open-source communities to define and influence the technical vision and deliverables for the team. This is a high-visibility role where you are expected to present to leadership teams, present at events partnering with software engineers and product manager colleagues.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with customers to identify friction areas for OCI consumption and influence investment roadmap.
• Help build, maintain and scale an efficient benchmarking and evaluation platform for most common model training, performance and compatibility evaluations.Lead technical customer & partner conversations and collect data to help identify impedance to OCI’s AI/ML offerings.
• Collaborate with fellow software engineer and product managers to drive investments within OCI AI & ML product teams.
• Contribute to publications, blogs and open source ML performance submissions partenering with product managers

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, or Python experience.
• 3+ experience in the areas of machine learning, deep learning, information retrieval, natural language processing computer vision or data mining.
• Experience using and developing AI training and inference software (PyTorch, Tensorflow, Triton etc.)Expereince with NVIDIA’s CUDA tools and acclerator libraries.

Hiring Range: from $109,100 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
