Job Description

The Sr. Data Engineer will lead the development and maintenance of pricing data management, systems and tools. The Data Engineer needs to have technical knowledge of platforms and software technology (PowerBI, R/, Python, SQL, SQL Server/Oracle), deep expertise in data science techniques, ability to drive effective support of data analysis and model management, and experience with IT project management practices

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Maintain and update pricing systems and tools with inputs from Sales and Pricing teams.
  • Develop and maintain machine learning models used in pricing.
  • Coordinate IT initiatives for improving pricing process and tools

Maintain cost allocation at the product and customer level; resolve data discrepancies as they arise

  • Perform monthly audits to ensure pricing accuracy
  • Coordinate all data updates with appropriate departments (e.g., marketing, sales, finance, and operations)
  • Standardize data and reporting across businesses and teams to enable consistency and quality control of key business data
  • Manage pricing performance focus and put in place process and routines to drive value
  • Propose new methodologies to demonstrate data to improve existing methodologies

Requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field
  • Proven ability data processing (ETL/ELT), performing and performing data mining, data analytics and predictive modeling initiatives
  • Experience with data visualization and data processing tools (e.g., PowerBI, R, Python,SQL)
  • Understanding of Data warehousing and Data mart concepts
  • Database skills (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server)Experience with Databases like SQL Server/Oracle
  • Experience with MPP systems, Azure Synapse preferred
  • Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms (clustering, decision tree learning, etc.)
  • Experience of working within Agile team
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and accurate usage, etc.) and experience with applications
  • Demonstrable experience in handling multiple urgent priorities
  • Self-starter with continuous improvement demeanor
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build trust across multiple partner groups
