Job Description

The Video Chief Data Office organization is looking for a talented, innovative architect and disruptor to help drive our transformation from monolithic on-prem data and analytics platforms to an agile cloud based distributed analytics and data mesh to enable business agility and data driven decision making across our streaming and satellite TV products.

You will be comfortable with setting architectural direction and developing end to end solutions including acquiring data in real-time and batch, developing data pipelines to ingest, analyze, validate, normalize and cleanse structure and unstructured data at scale, data visualization and finally enabling data science insights and machine learning solutions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • KNOWLEDGE: Seeks new knowledge and innovative methods across disciplines. Leverages subject matter and industry expertise and applies in-depth knowledge of company goals to contribute to business opportunities. Internal thought-leader on data, analytics and cloud technologies.
  • ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM SOLVING: Uses sophisticated analytical thought and judgment to solve most complex or unique problems. Develops integrated business solutions across organizations. Models organizational standards for innovation.
  • INDEPENDENCE: Guided by organization strategy and objectives. Influences organization goals and objectives. Leads organizational inventions.
  • CONTRIBUTION TO TECHNOLOGY/DATA ORGANIZATION: Key contributor on products, services and/or infrastructure strategies that require complex or advanced conceptualization. Ensures products and services are aligned with customers current and future needs and expectations. Directs projects of critical importance. Works on next generation technologies and platforms.
  • COMMUNICATION: Builds external alliances and is external technical spokesperson for company. Champions the execution of decisions based on the company’s mission and values. Engages others to adopt a sense of urgency and problem resolution.
  • COMPLAINCE & GOVERNANCE: Works with Legal, Compliance and Security and the Business Units to develop and implement best practices, policies and procedures

Experience

  • Demonstratable Logical and Physical database design using data modeling tools.
  • Must have demonstrable working knowledge of delivering insight projects to business via a defined data architecture.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of cloud-based data warehousing, streaming, batch processing.
  • Solid understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, Snowflake, Vertica, Teradata, AWS and Azure data solutions.
  • Working knowledge of implementing ML/AI across Azure and AWS leveraging Databricks MLOps.
  • Good understanding of internal business segments or stakeholders and good presentation skills.
  • 6-8 years related experience in data engineering/automation, relational database structures, data modeling and data quality.
