As the Director of Data Science, you will provide technology leadership and partner with cross-functional teams to develop and guide our battery storage and renewable solutions for our APM platform.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead, manage and mentor a team of Data Scientists working on Machine Learning algorithms and statistical models to analyze renewable assets performance
• Provide technical leadership for APM analytics solutions
• Work with Software Engineering and Product Management teams to design, deploy and monitor data analysis tools
• Instill a culture of R&D in the Data Science team with the goal of constant improvement in algorithm performance
• Expand team through hiring as needed
• Model and cultivate a culture of inclusivity, trust, exceptional communication, collaboration, respect, continuous learning, and enthusiasm for our work

What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

• 10+ years of experience working with Data Science applications.
• 3+ years of experience working on battery storage technologies.
• Strong background in Python programming for scientific applications.
• 3+ years of experience building and leading engineering and/or Data Science teams
• MSc in STEM, PhD a plus
• Hands on experience with AI-models a plus
• Knowledge of the Energy industry a plus
• Experience working with relational or timeseries databases and cloud technologies a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build solid working relationships — from individual contributors to executives
• Experience working and delivering products or services in an agile/lean environment
• Excellent communication skills
