Strategic Challenges for 2024 and Beyond

  • Align infrastructure, data, and system architecture in order to improve customer experience.
  • Build real-time architecture, which enables faster time to market
  • Simplify Kiwi.com architecture and decrease cognitive load & cross-system dependencies

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement System Architecture
  • Align System, Data, and Infrastructure Architectures
  • Evaluate and Adopt Technologies
  • Solve Problems and Troubleshoot
  • Collaborate and Communicate: You should work closely with different teams - developers, operations, data scientists, and business stakeholders. You should have strong stakeholder management a be capable of translating business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.

Technical/Professional qualification

  • Demonstrated experience in cloud-native environments.
  • Documented history of designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant systems, with an emphasis on understanding the challenges associated with the development and maintenance of large-scale systems.
  • Proficiency in diverse architectural paradigms and system design.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and decisions. Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on data-driven decision-making and a focus on Key Performance Indicators for all major initiatives.
  • Prior experience in the travel industry is a significant advantage.
  • Previous experience in software development and software operations.

Personal/Leadership skills

  • Humility, pragmatism, and open-mindedness with robust personal integrity.
  • Ability to visualize and think strategically, in line with company strategies, and to develop and implement team strategy.
  • Capable of managing team members at all levels (Managers, Seniors). Experience in coaching and mentoring teams and peers.
  • Business acumen with the ability to translate business needs and requirements into technical specifications. Strong people management and team leadership skills - able to set context and expectations for the team, support both managerial and individual contributor team members in achieving their goals, and comfortable with delivering both positive and negative news.
  • Consistency, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure without transferring it to colleagues or teams.
  • The capability to understand multiple perspectives, empathize with others' viewpoints, and optimize for the best outcomes for the company.
