Description

In this role you will run, maintain, and upgrade an opto-electronic test and measurement setup (die-level probe station) for testing opto-electronic integrated circuits (ICs) (Silicon Photonics). In addition, you will set up and carry out optical, electrical and opto-electronic measurements on various components and assist in the data analysis. Your work will contribute towards generating invaluable experimental data for Celestial AI sub-systems.

Responsibilities:

• Run, maintain, service and upgrade a die-level probe station for testing opto-electronic integrated circuits (ICs): Silicon Photonics passive and active devices.
• Set-up ad-hoc optical/ electrical / opto-electrical measurements to characterize various optical / electrical / opto-electrical components.
• Help create and execute a maintenance and continuous improvement plan for the test stations to improve test capabilities and gauge.
• Help set up data infrastructure to handle data outputs from test stations.
• Assist in data analysis.

Requirements:

• Requires BS in engineering/ physics/computer science. Masters preferred geared toward photonic technologies.

Desirable:

• Good understanding of integrated optics and photonic components as well as related testing requirements and methods.
• Good knowledge in semiconductor physics and opto-electronics.
• Experience with setting up optical measurements, including familiarity with standard test equipment/components (tunable lasers, powermeters, optical spectrum analysers, fiber arrays). Direct experience with commercial probe stations is a huge plus.
• Experience with high-speed test setups to measure opto-electronic S-parameters (optoelectronic transfer functions) and optical link performance.
• Some experience with automated instrument/machine control using Python / Matlab / LabView / C#
