Job Description

The Business Insights and performance team delivers value to Equinix through data-driven analysis, product reporting, recommendations, forecasts, and product/pricing data modeling for our Data Center Services product platform. This team sits under the Data Center Services Business Operations organization, supporting a $7B global business unit. As director of analytics & insights you will provide strategic support to our Colocation and Enabling Services divisions, solving complex issues and providing insightful reporting to help drive better business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key partner to VP level leadership, using data to unearth trends that will guide in decision making and prioritization
• Lead a small team of data analysts but also work with data directly to answer the tough questions
• Help the team move from many disparate reports into areas of true insight and action
• Wrangle data from many different data sources and do deep dive analysis to deliver business insights to drive business decisions and optimize company performance
• Contribute to and/or manage the standards for data exploration: apply and teach leading edge analysis tools and techniques to determine and predict trends, correlations, and causal relationships
• Work closely with DCS Product stakeholders to understand the business and use available data to effectively answer questions, solve problems, and perform ad-hoc data analysis
• Make and implement recommendations of what asks should be prioritized and why
• Meet with stakeholders to explain analytic results in clear, business friendly language
• Help create and maintain a suite of Tableau product dashboards that provide easy to understand visualizations and insights
• Act as a point of escalation to resolve complex inquiries from stakeholders
• Act as an internal consulting resource and data expert that stakeholders and lower level analysts can leverage
• Become a subject matter expert on DCS-product data (asset, billing, and customer data)

Qualifications

• 10+ years turning data into actionable insights
• Demonstrated experience in leading a high performing team of data analytics professionals
• Demonstrated experience turning analytics into action plans, separating nice-to-have metrics from areas where intervention can make a material difference
• Familiarity with advanced analytics, predictive and prescriptive machine learning to optimize business outcomes
• Advanced Tableau development experience, SQL and Microsoft Excel skills required
• Experience working with advanced data analytics tools (BigQuery, Looker, Alteryx, R, Python, SAS)
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other big data platforms an asset
• Project management skills an asset
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in an analytical field (math, computer science, statistics etc.)
