  • SixLab is a startup accelerator focused on energy innovation. Participants can leverage the skills and experience of the Studio X community, the tools and platform of Xeek, and the AI/ML innovation from our core data and geoscience teams.

What You’ll Do

The Innovation Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the development and oversee project work associated with research efforts. In this role, you will work with clients of StudioX to understand their requirements for research tracks and translate them into actions for various support teams, including product, marketing, data science, and engineering. In addition, you'll be engaged daily with the maturing of research topics, managing team expectations and velocity, and ensuring that the end products of research meet teams' desired outcomes. This role needs good attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to pick up new disciplines to help research be successful. This role will report to the Head of Innovation.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Help define the scope of sprints and key research features that lead to tackling innovation problems
  • Track and progress innovation roadmaps with agile practices, and an evolving product landscape
  • Work with Engineering and Data Science Teams to ensure that Innovation projects are delivered on time and at high performance
  • Assist in managing the StudioX Community through forum discussions and customer feedback, assuring feedback gets back into the Innovation team
  • Measure performance of the platform and research topics to identify areas of improvement
  • Find new and creative ways to research novel ideation that comes from the Innovation team

What you’ll bring:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a role where your primary responsibility was to manage projects
  • Familiarity with the different methods for running complex projects (i.e., Agile, Kanban)
  • Excellent collaboration for engaging both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working across diverse teams to accomplish goals
  • Understand and be able to facilitate the scrum process
  • An understanding of science or data science is a bonus
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills are a must 

Time Commitment / Travel Requirements

  • Full-time
  • Preferred location: Austin, Remote for the right candidate
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.
