Join our core engineering team in Harvard Square/Boston - one of the most important technical hubs in the world! We are a close knit engineering team of about 30 professionals who are always willing to teach and eager to learn. We’ve created a collaborative, supportive and fun culture while doing serious work.

With such a small team we believe that every member needs to be contributing in a meaningful, business-impacting way. So when you join, we will work with you to find the project you want to work on; One that you're excited to finish and that we're excited to have.

As an intern you'll join a team of 4 or 5 people. You will be treated like a regular employee. You'll have a manager who will mentor you in your professional development and a tech lead who will support you with scheduling, architecture and coding.. You will design, break down and own stories for every sprint. Your code will be held to the same standard expected of every engineer. Your contribution will make a difference for us.

There are a bunch of areas where you can make a big impact:

• Back end development, where you will focus on API design, machine learning algorithms and data movement.
• Front end development, where you will work with our designers to create beautiful and responsive user experiences.
• DevOps, where you will focus on developing and automating Tamr's cluster-computing infrastructure.

We have no problem teaching you technologies you've never used before. All we ask for is creativity and tenacity in solving the problems that we're tackling together.

Here's some background on our software stack:

• UI engineers work on a single page web app using HTML5, CSS3, React, Redux and, of course, JavaScript.
• Back end developers work in Java but often interface with REST APIs, Postgres, SparkSQL or Spark RDDs. Common data formats include CSV, JSON and Avro.
• DevOps works with Ansible, Terraform, Python and Kubernetes.
