Responsibilities

  • Provide systems support on PlusAI’s full-stack, self-driving technology for large-scale, autonomous commercial fleets.
  • Responsible for establishing robust vehicle platform system concepts, and execute systems engineering practices that can be utilized across the company to guide product development.
  • Perform system and component test case definition for self-driving systems and components, using knowledge of vehicle communication networks and protocols.
  • Utilize knowledge of commonly used robotics, computer vision, machine learning, deep learning frameworks and libraries and software development tools to collaborate with teams of different functionalities and integrate various components (perception, planning, prediction, control etc.) into a running system.
  • Design and develop the concepts and requirements which inform the overall product safety, and ensure product performance complies with automotive safety standards.
  • Use Jira and Agile Workflow to oversee the documentation and maintenance of product requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Perform component and system level diagnostics and tuning, and integrate, test, and tune sensor modules and components.
  • Review and analyze complex system requirements, and translate detailed designs into various computer programming languages, such as C++ and Python.
  • Use various requirements management tools to produce concept deliverables with original equipment manufacturers (OEM), partners, and customers.
  • Perform software and hardware component requirements definition tasks, and provide the development teams with guidance on product strategy and direction.
  • Collaborate with partners on the integration of the PlusAI autonomous driving system onto various vehicle platforms, and conduct vehicle test and validation, using knowledge of autonomous vehicle simulation.
  • Meet with key stakeholders such as program management, external partners, and leadership to design and develop program plans, using good oral and written communication skills.
  • Review and organize vehicle commissioning, performance evaluations, and fleet issue resolutions.
  • Prepare component and system test case documentation, and report results to verify and validate the system against the requirements, applying knowledge of software development and testing tools (CANoe, CANape, and CANalyzer).

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Test Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or related occupation in the automotive industry.
  • Must have experience with the following:

$117,000 - $185,000 a year

Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.

*Note: Work is also performed at the company office in Fremont, CA (41320 Boyce Road, Fremont, CA 94538).
