Job Description

Responsibilities

DIGIT is seeking a Release and Deployment Lead to lead or oversee the release planning, coordination, and deployment of releases into the production environment. Day to day release activities include technical release-test management activities, coordinate platform upgrades/functional updates, analyze log files, configure file changes, ensure installation and configuration documents are updated, perform / oversee QA / validation testing, and perform technical issue/problem resolution. This role will ensure release teams efficiently deliver products and upgrades required by the business while maintaining the integrity of the existing production environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position shall perform the following (to include but not limited to) activities:

- Lead and / or oversee release, deploy, and QA Testing Strategy for multiple implementation / release and deploy frameworks. 

- Serve as a key resource regarding the release design, configuration, development, support, and maintenance during projects. 

- Collaborate cross functionally with engineering and development groups to design and implement a secure fault-tolerant infrastructure.

- Lead organizational change that ensure a holistic approach to transition products and services into the production environment.

- Ensure release work adheres to the processes, policies, and best practices for development and manual / automated testing for: existing configurations and customizations during patching, major upgrades, updates to Delta specific configuration and customizations, and new plugins / new features for specific functionality.

- Design test process procedures to measure the functionality and integrity of products and services. 

- Evaluate complex test procedures and protocols to assess product reliability and evaluates the ability of products to meet performance standards and specifications.

- Analyze test cases and scenarios and reports results. 

- Collaborate with other engineering groups to improve or upgrade product performance. 

- Understand business user stories / requirements to provide the testing to cover defined acceptance criteria.

- Coordinate with teams, SMEs, and End Users for User Acceptance and integration testing.

- Identify and ensure original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation and related documentation are maintained. 

- Train personnel on the proper methodology to maintain a proactive test program. 

- Provide daily support and direction to team as to change status requirements, deadlines, and problems.

- Maintain contract deliverables.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

CONTRACT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

This following are REQUIRED for this position:

- Public Trust Clearance and ITILv4 Foundation Certification 90 days after start date.

- Provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments. 

- Establish goals and plans that meet project objectives. 

- Has domain and expert technical knowledge. 

- Decision-making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation. 

- Proven ability to work independently in a full and/or partial remote environment with limited supervision and may supervise/lead others.

- Possess the ability to communicate in both oral and written forms, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff as well as clients.

- Maintain standard working hours per the DIGIT contract and to be available for meetings, and other collaborative efforts during working hours.

- Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments with the ability to use practical experience and training to determine how to accomplish tasks.

CONTRACT DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are DESIRED for this position:

- DevSecOps.

- Familiar with Modern system update delivery models.

- ServiceNow Certified System Admin (CSA) certification.

- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer.

- Familiar with JAVA, C++, XSLT, XML, and scripting languages. 

- Proficiency in the Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Meet, Docs, Slides, Sheets), Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Slack, and ServiceNow.

- ServiceNow ATF.

- GitLab and GitHub

- Must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including holidays as scheduled.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The following are the education and experience required for this position:

- 10-15 years of experience and bachelor's degree.

- 5 years of experience with ServiceNow

 - 5 years of experience with Gitlab and GitHub

- Experience as a remote worker demonstrating time management and self-discipline with cultural change management and Agile mindset.

- Can identify, understand, document, and create functionality aligning with customer value streams. 

- Excellent understanding of the Agile software testing process and lifecycle, from smoke test, to integration to production deployment.

- Can produce level of estimates and basic deployment plans for ServiceNow functionality.

- Appear on camera for meetings with co-workers and government partners via video chat and ensure the protection of proprietary company and customer information is consistent with the company’s expectation of information security.

- Viewing computer screens and sitting for long periods of time. 

- Travel is not required.
