Job Description

A Senior Robotics Control Engineer position is available at EDDA Technology, Princeton, NJ. Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for design and implementation of robotics control algorithms and safety systems for surgical robots.
  • Works in the interdisciplinary team to develop novel real-time control systems for robotic surgical tools.
  • Follow rigorous design control methodology and write concise requirements specifications, architecture specifications, and design description, verification plans, and test cases.
  • Performs unit testing of software and assists in the verification and validation process.
  • Manages schedules, meet and adhere to development goals.
  • Provides planning and status information to project manager.
  • Conforming to the Company’s standard/procedure of product development;
  • Efficiently communicating with project managers and team members on the execution;
  • Other job responsibilities as assigned by the management.

Required qualifications:

  • Experience in software development for robot multi-threading framework, motion planning and decision making.
  • Experience in multi-agent robot systems, including collision avoidance, coordination.
  • Experience in TCP/UDP communication protocol.
  • Experience with linear algebra and mathematical optimization models
  • Strong C/C++ development skills.
  • 3+ years of professional or equivalent experience.
  • MS or PhD in EE or CS;

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience in medical robotic system development
  • Experience in optimal control algorithms such as Model Predictive Control (MPC)
  • Experience in Windows/Linux/Micro-controller cross-platform data communication and development
  • Perception sensor (F/T sensor, camera, etc) integration with robotic systems
  • Embedded system development and integration
