Interested in building machines with commonsense intelligence? With the Mosaic team, you will be at the forefront of research in Commonsense in AI. As a Young Investigator, you’ll have the opportunity to work on various aspects of commonsense in AI:

  • How should we model commonsense reasoning capabilities?
  • How should we represent commonsense in our AI models?
  • How should we reason across modalities -- e.g. images and text?
  • How should we collect and organize commonsense knowledge?
  • How should we benchmark commonsense reasoning capabilities of AI?
  • How should we reason through generation?
  • How should we identify and mitigate biases in our datasets?
  • How should we <your ideas here>?

Your Next Challenge:

  • Dedicated AI2 mentor: Mentorship in research, grant writing, and more
  • 50% collaborative work on an AI2 project
  • 50% work on your own projects
  • Commonsense Reasoning:
    • Modeling: How should we build models that demonstrate commonsense reasoning?
    • Multimodality: How should we build models that can reason from information obtained from different modalities -- e.g. images and text?
    • Generation
  • Commonsense Evaluation:
    • Benchmarking: How should we evaluate commonsense reasoning of AI?
  • Commonsense Knowledge Acquisition:
    • Crowdsourcing
    • Mining implicit commonsense from large text / image corpora
