Director - Data Science

Description:

The Director Data Science oversees the data science department’s training and competency development, determining best practices and work standards. The Director Data Science initiates data science programs across the department not only with a view of improving departmental performance but also with a focus on revenue growth and achievement of the business’ overall targets and objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Build and define the future roadmap for the global Brainlabs Data Science product capability, focusing on market leading technology to drive a smarter understanding of data, utilisation of data in media activation, and optimisation based values.

• Work with our regional Data Services leads to support on thought leadership and new business opportunities from start to end throughout the process.

• Work through all stages of product development: defining the capability, crafting the business solution, gathering and structuring data, building machine learning & deep learning models, and communicating business impact to stakeholders.

• Proven record of applying data science, AI/ML/DL framework methods to business problems and experience working with traditional supervised & unsupervised modelling techniques.

• Provide technical thought leadership, coaching and mentorship in the field of data science in working with engineering and other cross functional teams like sales and marketing.

• Develop and lead a team of Data Scientists, supporting their personal and capability development alongside the wider global data community needs.

• Research and bring innovations to develop next generation solutions in core functional areas related to digital marketing analytics & media analytics based on recent advancements in industry such as GPT3, other Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, Deep Learning etc.

• Ability to analyse mined data and prescribing the model-based recommendations/actions for the end users.

• The ability to distill problem definitions, models, constraints from informal business requirements; and to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives.

• Design and implement high performance and robust analytical models in support of product and project objectives.

• Understand high level data science requirements from the prospects, client partners & customer success teams and lead the pre-sales efforts such as estimations, proposals, SOWs etc.,

• Take initiative and stay up to date with the latest data science trends, techniques, and best practices, determining how to incorporate the most suitable practices in the department

• Managing projects in an Agile environment.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience working in Data Science projects.

• 3+ years of experience working on data science solutions within Marketing Analytics domain

• Bachelor’s Degree / Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Operational Research or similar field, or related disciplines

• Demonstrated experience developing and managing complex projects and effectively leading interdisciplinary teams to accomplish project goals.

• Experience building machine learning, deep learning, NLP and other AI based models in Python, R, Scala or other programming languages. Working with large, complex structured/unstructured datasets using big data technologies and scripting languages such as Java, or C/C++.

• Relevant experience with organizations known for cutting edge/ best-in-class applications of Advanced Analytics, Predictive Modelling, Recommender Systems, NLP/NLU, Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence.

• Exposure to Deep Learning applications and tools like TensorFlow, Theano, Torch, Caffe is preferred.

• Deep understanding of neural networks is essential (including computer vision nets like YOLO etc)

• Experience with Large Language Models is essential (GPT3, Pathways, Google Bert, Transformer) is essential

• Should have experience in formulating, approaching, and solving complex analytical problems using a quantitative, scientific approach.

• Experience collaborating with lead data scientists, lead data engineers, principal architects and lead BI consultants

• Experience working in a start-up or building a product in a new category

• Experience working on cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure/Nvidia)

• Knowledge on MLOPS preferred
