The Mosaic team is seeking intelligent, motivated interns who have a passion for machine learning, NLP and commonsense reasoning.

Are you interested in building machines with commonsense intelligence? With the Mosaic team, you will be at the forefront of research in commonsense in AI. 

As a Research Intern on the Mosaic team, you'll have the opportunity to work on various aspects of commonsense in AI:

  • How should we model commonsense reasoning capabilities?
  • How should we represent commonsense in our AI models?
  • How should we reason across modalities -- e.g. images and text?
  • How should we collect and organize commonsense knowledge?
  • How should we benchmark commonsense reasoning capabilities of AI?
  • How should we reason through generation?
  • How should we identify and mitigate biases in our datasets?
  • How should we <your ideas here>?

Your Next Challenge:

PhD, Masters and Undergraduate students in computer science are invited to apply for an internship on the Mosaic team year-round. Applicants should have an interest in natural language processing, machine learning, knowledge representation, semantics, question answering, textual entailment, or computer vision. All interns are paired with a Mosaic mentor and participate in AI2's groundbreaking work. There are no restrictions on publications based on internships. Pay is competitive, and visa sponsorship is available.

AI2 Intern of the Year Opportunity:

AI2 offers an Intern of the Year Award that will recognize a research intern who has performed outstanding research that will lead to a high-quality paper aligned with one of AI2's projects. This winning intern will receive:

  • $10,000 cash prize (applicable to tax)
  • Invitation to return to AI2 for another internship
  • Potential future employment opportunity at AI2
  • External announcement of their award
