The Opportunity

The US Climate Advisory Services Team is seeking individuals for the role of Climate Field Product Specialist (FPS) in Central Plains (Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado). The FPS will be responsible for leading Field Science Protocols and new product testing with Research Partners, farmers and key retail dealers across the US Bayer sales regions.

Climate aims to help farmers around the world increase productivity through digital tools. The company's proprietary technology platform enables farmers, dealers and partners to simply collect all your data in one place for insights using FieldViewTM Plus and Drive products. Climate Advisory Services in seed, fertility and crop protection products branded Climate FieldViewTM Premium further help farmers improve their yield potential & reduce risk through more real-time agronomic insight and business planning tools. Climate integrates data connectivity in-cab using proprietary FieldViewTM Drive technology, as well as via broad industry partnerships. Climate, LLC is wholly owned by Bayer Crop Science. 

The FPS will lead the achievement of targeted protocol trials essential to advance Climate Science and new products, providing Knowledge Transfer to the Climate and Bayer organizations in seed, fertility and crop protection.

What You’ll Do 

  • Lead new Product testing & projects in your territory with customers and dealers. 
  • Partner with and lead Customer & Dealer Council members in your territory. 
  • Drive achievement of Field Science Protocol objectives through implementation across key dealers, farmers, Research Partners and field contractors.
  • Influence Field Science Protocol design and implementation in close collaboration with Climate Science. 
  • Align Alpha Growers, Research Partners and key dealers for testing of new product concepts from Climate Science, ensuring quantified value prior to commercialization. 
  • Lead Knowledge Transfer to Climate, LLC CEMs and Bayer Crop Science commercial teams regarding the features, advantages and benefits of new products. 
  • Provide technical leadership on all aspects of Climate Science behind FieldViewTM products across distribution channels. 
  • Build close relationships with Bayer Market Development organization as the primary owner of Climate’s relationship with Bayer Market Development as well as Supply Chain. 
  • Facilitate Alpha’s and Beta’s to demonstrate the value of new Science and Product development, creating confidence in pre-commercial trials. 

What You’ll Need 

  • 5+ years of experience with business planning in agronomy and/or sales, bringing new technology products/services to market. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred (preferably in Agri-Business, Ag-Economics, Agronomy or Ag-Sciences) 

Nice To Haves 

  • Proven technical leader with ability to influence and motivate the broader enterprise on the value of digital products and data science. 
  • Comprehension of agricultural distribution, partners and sales channels; strong work ethic, high sense of urgency, resilient and process driven 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience and proficiency in leading small and large group presentations.
  • Strong analytical skills needed to implement and evaluate Science protocols. 
  • Ensure strong relationship with Research Partners, key dealers to drive successful implementation of Science protocols. 
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding aggressive objectives with new product launches 
  • Ability to master value-based selling with agronomic data science and effectively develop, demonstrate and communicate unique value propositions for a highly evolving market with services focused on seed, fertility and crop protection.

  • Base salary estimated range between $119,184-$132,427 annually, depending on the hiring location. You may also be offered bonuses, RSUs cash equivalent, or commission.
