The rapid shift to remote knowledge work has been one of the more jarring changes in a year full of disruption. There are many pros and cons to this shift, but one bitter downside is the loss of connection we all feel to our co-workers. At the end of the day, all the hours spent collaborating over video leave us feeling drained, disoriented, and detached.

We believe there is a better way. At our stealth-mode startup, we’re inventing a brighter future for remote collaboration where effortlessly intelligent video chat makes work more meaningful, productive, inclusive, and joyous. To get there, we’re using conversational intelligence to build a virtual office where ideas flow more freely, decisions inspire action, and people feel more connected.

ROLE

We are seeking an experienced NLP Engineer to become the fourth member of our four-person founding team. The ideal candidate can both set a long term vision for how NLP can unlock new value for our users, and can also lead the way in executing on that vision by designing, training, building, and integrating NLP models that power conversational intelligence.

We are very early on this journey, and there are many challenging and exciting NLP problems to be solved. We’re looking for a key partner who is excited to help us solve them, and invent a new future of work.

The best fit for this role would have a strong understanding of a broad range of fundamental NLP areas including: information extraction, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, text clustering and segmentation, noun-phrase detection, word embeddings, sentence embeddings, topic modelling, sentiment analysis, parsing, and text classification.

Additionally, they would have competency with the following:

• Experience building full end-to-end data pipelines: collecting, cleaning, labeling, and indexing data for training, building, and deploying models
• Experience deploying ML/NLP models in production
• A mastery of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
• Fluency in Python and ML/NLP libraries (e.g., Scikit-Learn, SpaCy, Pytorch, Spark NLP)
• Experience building API’s for model integration (e.g., Node.js, Flask)
• Some experience working with or alongside computer vision systems
