Job Description

We’re looking for a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE team and closely cooperate with the DevOps and Platform Engineers teams. The hire will be responsible for bringing to the next level the observability and reliability of microservices and infrastructure, cooperating with developers regarding sound practices for reliability in the distributed system, and developing tools and automation related to the SRE field. 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Java application development and Site Reliability Engineering, know about metrics, logs, alerting, and monitoring of Java applications, as well as have hands-on experience with Kubernetes, and the AWS cloud platform. You should be able to communicate effectively with developers and DevOps engineers, manage your tasks effectively, and have the mindset of constant improvement in the area of production system maintenance. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s system architecture to deliver the highest availability and Quality of Service to our customers.

What you will be doing:

• Improving the observability, monitoring, and alerting of our backend and frontend services
• Working closely with development teams to introduce good practices supporting reliability
• Working closely with the DevOps team to provide necessary tools supporting safe changes in the infrastructure
• Testing system’s performance via load tests and cloud-related tests such as chaos testing
• Developing tools and automation supporting best practices in the SRE area

Apply if you have:

• 5+ years of experience, preferably with a SaaS product at scale
• Strong understanding of DevOps/Agile principles
• Fluency with design patterns required for building highly resilient microservice solutions
• Experience with programming (Java, Python, Golang)
• Experience working with AWS Cloud
• Solid background in Kubernetes & Containerisation
• Experience developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) at scale using Terraform
• Good understanding of REST API and Kafka
• Experience with Git (GitLab preferred)
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus/ Grafana, Dynatrace)
• Experience with logging tools (e.g. ELK)
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems (RPM & Debian-based machines)
• Curious and growth mindset, and always willing to learn new technologies
• Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and Collaboration - the ideal candidate, including those residing outside of Krakow, should be open to periodic in-person meetings at our Krakow office, at least once a month, to foster teamwork and enhance project collaboration
