As an Operations Data Scientist, you’ll be responsible for data collection, data analysis, model building, text mining, presentation building, and related data stewardship activities. The work will also require collaborating with various colleagues across commercial lines and finance to gain insights into the current sales process

What You’ll Do:

  • Build next generation service fee pricing model; identify current gap and propose alternatives.
  • Develop and maintain sales and service revenue information reports and dashboards for the commercial lines department.
  • Support in building performance tracking tools for new business production.
  • Provide insight on retention, growth, and macroeconomic factors that impact customer lifetime value.
  • Build scoring models to link revenue and profitability with lead generation and win rates. Apply the portfolio-based approach to scoring models.
  • Analyze fee and commission structure and evolve target customer profile.
  • Explore and test tools for lead generation based on established customer profiles.
  • Explore and test tools that use data science principles to monitor customer retention risks.
  • Act as data steward for business terms that directly relate to commercial lines service pricing model.
  • Analyze annual client survey data and provides insights that impact the business.

  • You understand and consume corporate finance, accounting, and actuarial terms.
  • You apply data science techniques to surface unusual patterns in data.
  • You can evolve models using a bottom-up approach in the absence of adequate information or data.
  • You bring creativity and experience to solve dynamic challenges and bring new perspectives to a growing business.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or similar quantitative disciplines.
  • 5 or more years of experience in insurance or an allied industry.
  • Expertise in SQL, Python, Excel, and Tableau.
  • Experience working as an actuarial pricing analyst, budget analyst, or data scientist with a focus on pricing, reserving, or related financial analysis activities.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate finance, managerial accounting principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Completion of 3-5 Actuarial Exams Preferred but not required.

More About Us:

Compensation: Anticipated salary between $70,780.00 - $117,966.00. Salary offered will be dependent upon geography, experience, and expertise of the candidate.

This position is eligible to participate in an incentive program to earn additional compensation with a target equivalent to 8% of salary annually, based on individual and Company performance.
