Overview

Nortal is looking for an experienced Data Analyst for our client – a professional services organization based in Vancouver, specializing in the convergence of business strategy and technological implementations. Client’s core expertise lies in Big Data, Cloud Technology, and Analytics, including Advanced Analytics in AI and machine learning. Client works with mid-market and large enterprises across North America, devising and scaling Data & Analytics strategies and the main focus involves connecting disparate operating systems, consolidating them in the cloud, harmonizing them through modeling, and operationalizing them to drive substantial business impact.

As a Data Analyst you will operate within a fast-paced, agile, and iterative environment. Your role involves taking charge of data reporting solutions, empowering relevant stakeholders with actionable insights. Leveraging data from diverse industries across various projects, you will craft precise and easily understandable designs and solutions. These solutions will be presented to identify trends and patterns in project findings. A comprehensive grasp of Mathematical and Statistical skills for Analytics is crucial, as is practical experience with data visualization tools like Data Studio, Tableau, Power BI, and Looker. An understanding of current dashboard and visualization design trends and best practices is expected.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with businesses to enable better control over their analytics requirements
• Engage with Business, Engineering, and Client teams to capture and manage requirements, align priorities, and meet stakeholder expectations
• Utilize SQL to clean, transform, investigate, and enhance extensive and complex data sets spanning multiple business systems
• Offer support and consultation to propagate data management and governance best practices
• Develop report wireframes/proof-of-concepts based on initial project requirements and branding guidelines
• Construct operational dashboards as self-service tools for analyzing and presenting data linked to customer experience, business operations, and strategic decision-making
• Stay updated on industry standards and trends within Business Analytics and Business Intelligence tools

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience utilizing analytics to address problems, comprehend user behavior, and drive business decisions
• Proficiency with programming languages, including at least 3+ years of experience with SQL
• Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in dashboard reporting and information design
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills, showcasing innovative problem-solving capabilities
• Familiarity with entity relationship diagrams and data models for analytical purposes
• Capability to develop high-quality dashboards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Effective time management abilities
• Team player with a track record of collaborating across various teams and job roles
• Comfortable working within a highly flexible, start-up, fast-paced environment
• A passion for technology, business, customer experience, innovation, and digital solutions

• Programming skills in R and Python
