Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop and manage a secure, compliant, scalable infrastructure to deploy the AI Platform internationally and train models on highly sensitive data.
• Automate and optimize the AI platform stack, for cost efficient training and inference.
• Champion end-to-end automation, including automation of infrastructure deployment, responsible AI testing, AI deployment in production.
• Support Axon in its mission to Champion Operational Excellence and Responsible state-of-the-art innovation.
• Develop solutions for innovation at scale.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics or an equivalent highly technical field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience and a proven track record of successfully architecting and operating high availability cloud-based services, cloud-based data platforms, or cloud-based AI platforms.
• Solid experience with Dev-Ops tools, such as Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Solid experience with at least 1 main stream cloud provider, such as Google Cloud, Amazon, or Azure.
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to dive into system architecture, including security, scale, and performance considerations, as well as deployments and operations.
• Comfort communicating and interacting with scientists, engineers and ML/product managers.

Preferred

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or an equivalent highly technical field.
• Experience with inference optimization techniques.
• Deep understanding of the Machine Learning Lifecycle, ML model types.
• Deep knowledge of operating systems.
• Familiarity with compliance rules and framework.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 131,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 202,000 in the highest geographic market. The on target earnings range for this role is between USD 187,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 346,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
