Your role in helping us shape the future:

U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. In this position you will have the opportunity to leverage your strengths and skills to obtain and analyze customer and competitor data across the organization to drive marketing, advertising and lead generation strategies. You will work with large and complex data sets (both internal and external data) to evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of business strategies. You will be responsible for initiating and driving major initiatives, efforts and tools that harness technology to achieve goals and objectives.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Delve deep into large data sets to build clear, compelling analyses that unlock creative tests and high-impact breakthroughs in our marketing initiatives. Partner with the marketing team to provide insights on various marketing aspects such as customer intent, experience, behavior, etc. that would help them in efficiently optimizing their marketing strategies and derive maximum revenue.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize marketing measurement frameworks including attribution and segmentation.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the business's marketplace dynamics.
  • Establish a vision and roadmap for the data science function to strategically change the economics of our business.
  • Query and analyze data using a holistic perspective.
  • Look for and consider patterns in data in order to find opportunities working alongside our Product Development, Data Scientists, and Marketing teams.
  • Distill highly complex problems into narratives that are concise, actionable, and memorable, and express your recommendations with both conviction and finesse.
  • Transform raw data into meaningful and impactful analysis characterized by strong data governance, technique transparency, and aggressive documentation.
  • Devise and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting customer and competitor data and / or arrange to obtain existing data. Analyze consumer, industry, and market conditions and trends.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

You should definitely have:

  • Proven track record of deploying advanced analytic tools and processes to drive business results.
  • Experience across product, marketing, business intelligence and/or other analytical domains.
  • Proven ability to craft concise, actionable analyses and reports that tell a story about a business area or audience segment.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience working in a quantitative field (analytics & data science domain); preferably with marketing technology experience.
  • Experience driving and implementing successful digital marketing transformation at the enterprise level.
  • Relevant technical skills including experience with one or more of: marketing automation or CRM, GA 360, Python, R, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and search engine optimization best practices.
  • Strong analytical abilities to analyze customer data and determine if strategies are effective in enhancing the customer experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related marketing field.

It would be nice if you had:

  • Master’s Degree in marketing, business or a related field.
  • Strong creative thinking.
