Job Description

Atorus is looking for an experienced R developer to support the development of Metadata driven SDTM automation. The value proposition is that with 15-20 reusable algorithms up to 80% of SDTM domains can be automated. We’ll use a combination of 4 in-house developed R packages and a web-application with UI built in React Framework and Amazon DB Database.

Requirements

Availability for meetings between 4PM - 7PM CET.

This role is to primarily support the development of R packages to support SDTM automation.

ADaM knowledge is preferred but NOT required. We need the R Developers to contribute to the package development as well.

CDISC SDTM/ ADaM Requirements:

- Solid experience implementing CDISC Standards (SDTM/ADaM).

- Experience in working in early phase or Late phase clinical studies performing Regulatory reporting activities (SDTM, ADaM) using SAS or R. Good knowledge about the end-to-end clinical reporting and adherence to sponsor standards.

- SDTM Pooling experience.

- Submissions experience utilizing define.xml and other submission documents.

R package development Requirements:

- Experience in software development using R.

- Advanced knowledge of the R Programming language including R package development, R-markdown, and R Studio.

- Understanding of open-source software development

- Experience performing code reviews

- Git version control experience.

- Experience in creating Test cases for R packages and creating a testing strategy to fit the business requirements.

- Critical thinking and ability to supervise the development of several R packages.

- Excellent communication skills – communication with experts & non-experts.

“Nice to have” Requirements

- Understanding of API development process and experience in API development with

Plumber and deploying them in RStudio connect.

- Experience in developing R Shiny applications.

- Experience with submitting R packages to CRAN is a plus.

- Experience with web technologies such as web services, XML, JSON, REST, etc

- Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology (Nice to have)

Responsibility/Duties

- Design and Develop R packages to support metadata driven SDTM automation.

- Develop & Implement CDISC SDTM & ADaM datasets in R.

- Scope to act as technical adviser and lead developer for all R packages of the project

- Participate in the end-to-end development of the packages, incl. writing proper documentation, and unit and integration tests.

- Manage package versioning in GitLab

- The candidate will perform hands-on programming development tasks using R and collaborate with the team of software engineers and submit and perform code reviews using GitLab

- Support the team in open-sourcing the packages
