The Sr. Analyst, MI at Hershey Canada is a strategic business partner who will leverage data analytics capabilities to develop actionable insights to fuel Hershey brands and strategy. This role is dedicated to uncovering and transforming category, customer, and brand data into actionable insights that unlock growth and improve business performance.

The Market Intelligence team requires a collaborative, curious, critical-thinking individual, with a strong analytical and strategic mindset. This individual will need to present recommendations in simplified and actionable formats to cross-functional teams across various levels of the organization. This role provides an opportunity to present data-driven storytelling solutions to senior leadership, as well as close collaboration with the IT team to automate reporting and gain exposure to AI modeling.

What will you do?

  • Monthly Insights Reporting: Assess the performance of the business monthly and proactively identify opportunities and risks through a combination of full-scale data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Assesses marketplace trends, analyzes various sources of data (i.e., Nielsen syndicated, custom, and other internal and external data sources) to identify key opportunities and insights consistent with business strategies and brand marketing plans.
  • Supports the brand teams with innovation, strategy, brand plans, benchmarking, demand estimates and other key deliverables dependent on business needs.
  • Acts as a trusted subject matter expert on marketplace, category, and brand health trends and provides recommendations to the organization to achieve business objectives; leads development and dissemination of key initiatives through the understanding of key business health metrics.
  • Category and Market Share Forecasting: Supports category and market share forecast development through partnership with data scientists and the use of AI, while seeking alignment with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Design and implementation of dashboards and reporting delivery in Power BI using data visualization practices to simplify the communication of complex data insights; seek to improve efficiency of reporting delivery and processes using emerging technologies and automation.
  • Championing Internal & External Partnerships: Maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders (such as Brand Managers, Portfolio, Sales Strategy, SRGM, Category Management, etc.) as well as external vendor partners and consultants.

Preferred Requisites

  • Familiarity with Power BI and data visualization principles would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of AI initiatives and their application in business decision making would be a strong asset.
  • Experience with alternative syndicated research sources would be an asset.
  • Experience in Share Forecasting would be a strong asset.

Skills, Knowledge, and Education Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive professional experience with expertise and successful accomplishments in insights delivery, category management, forecasting models and/or a similar related analytical field.
  • Experience working with various syndicated datasets (Nielsen, Numerator) and customer POS.
  • Advanced MS Excel experience required, including complex spreadsheet models, pivots, macros, lookups, etc.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to share complex insights with various stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree: Business, Economics, and/or Marketing major preferred.
