Join our autonomy evaluation team, the cornerstone of ensuring our systems safety and operation excellence. We are a dedicated group of talented engineers with dual mission; not only do we ensure that our system is safe adhering to stringent guidelines and safety regulation but we also ensure that it meets the demanding performing requirements while navigating the complex trade-offs in autonomy stack design. 

Additionally, the team apply rigorous evaluation of data quality ensuring all performance evaluation data is representative under diverse real-world conditions.

The team implements cutting-edge statistical analysis methods which require deep understanding of information theory, statistics and innovative mindset to apply those methods efficiently.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and maintain performance evaluation algorithms and frameworks for autonomous driving stack
  • Analyze and interpret large-scale datasets to assess system performance and identify trends
  • Collaborate with the Intelligent systems, Prediction, Localization and System teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks
  • Create and maintain documentation for performance evaluation methodologies and results
  • Work with the Data platform team to optimize data processing workflows
  • Continuously expand knowledge of industry trends and advancements in autonomous vehicle systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the continuous improvement of our autonomous vehicle technology

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in performance evaluation, data analysis, or a similar role
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Strong hands-on experience with PyTorch deep learning framework
  • Solid understanding of bayesian, robust and nonparametric statistics.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools
  • Knowledge of prediction, motion planning and control algorithms in autonomous vehicle systems
  • Proficiency in using data analysis libraries, such as Pandas
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have:

  • Doctorate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with C++ programming
  • Familiarity with the CARLA simulator and other autonomous vehicle simulation environments
  • Knowledge of data pipeline processing tools, such as Dagster
